Partnerships
Western County Review considers partnerships that suit its focus on counties, maps and place literacy. A useful collaboration adds context for readers without blurring the line between editorial explanation and promotion.
Suitable collaborations
We consider clearly defined educational, cultural and place-focused collaborations, including commissioned explanatory material and relevant partner placements across the site. Proposals should describe the subject, intended audience, proposed format and any commercial relationship. We do not accept arrangements that require unsupported claims or editorial control over independent coverage.
How material is labelled
Partner-supported or paid material is labelled clearly beside the relevant content or placement. Labels should tell readers when a commercial relationship applies; they should not rely on vague wording or a separate page to explain the connection. Editorial work remains distinct from partner material.
Propose a partnership
Use the Contact page and select the partnership option. Set out the proposed contribution, where it would appear and what support or payment is involved. Each proposal is considered for fit and clarity; sending one does not guarantee acceptance.
A map is a starting point, not the whole place.
Western County Review looks past labels and lines to the land and connections behind them. We separate what a map shows from what a reader might infer.
