Editorial policy
Western County Review aims to make county geography clear without making it tidier than it is. We explain the basis for our claims, distinguish description from interpretation, and correct the record when we get something wrong.
Accuracy and clarity
Articles should use precise terms and make clear whether a statement describes a map feature, a general pattern or an interpretation. We avoid unsupported certainty and do not invent local details. When a subject varies from place to place, we say so rather than presenting one example as universal.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure a commercial placement. A partnership does not confer editorial approval or control over unrelated coverage. We do not imply endorsement of a product, service or organization through editorial discussion.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an unclear claim, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests, check the issue, and amend published wording when warranted. Significant corrections should be made clear in the affected article.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from editorial work. The label should appear with the material, not be left for readers to infer. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that applies, the illustration is identified as AI-generated, and it is not presented as documentary evidence of a real place.
A map is a starting point, not the whole place.
Western County Review looks past labels and lines to the land and connections behind them. We separate what a map shows from what a reader might infer.
